Aung San Suu Kyi, a Nobel Peace Prize Laureate and elected Prime Minister of Myanmar, is the best example of non-violent advocacy for democracy in her country of Myanmar (formally Burma), and yet is held captive by the pugnacious Military-government that is lord over the very country that she has dedicated her life to. The junta first imprisoned Suu Kyi after a political election turned nefarious, and has been kept from the outside world for fourteen of the past twenty years. Personal action must be enacted in order to save the world famous peacemaker, Suu Kyis life, and the lives of almost forty-three million Burmese people whose freedom is at stake in their battle for human rights. Already, thousands of people from around the world have been inspired by Suu Kyis plight, and the plight of her people, and have begun to raise a proverbial call to arms. However, more are needed. The United Nations, Amnesty International, and numerous other powerful administrations have not been enough to sway the brutal military leader of Burma yet; individual, non-affiliated people are needed to procure another country their freedom as we use our own.
Avery Conant (San Jose, CA, USA), 17 Nov 2009, 10:05:31 PM

I am so fortunate to live in a democractic society that allows all sorts of freedoms. It is hard for me to even imagine what the people of Burma, people just like me, have to endure. Free Political Prisoners now so they may help their people, our people, atttain freedom.

More Political Prisoners going to jails and criminals are coming out from jails. The military regime is invited to attend the meeting in US. Violence is wining and the world is so unsafe. Burma is blackout. May you all be released soon. May GOD bless Burma. May GOD remove regime soon.

Free all political prisoners in Burma now!
Deeeeba (Lafayette, Louisiana, USA), 22 Sep 2009, 02:59:12 PM
I know this. The regime will never leave unless the UN and international pressure them strongly. The regime will use dassk until she die. Alas, those benefits go to the regime family only. No legal laws in Burma. You or your kids can be stolen, tortured and killed for no reason. No US or UN will be able to help you in certainty. Political prisoner life in Burma is a real hell. I wish you the best.

Actually, the hope for freedom and democracy is not clear in view at that time. All freedom fighters in Burma are treated brutal and cunning method and most of them are imprisoned suffering long term jail sentences. Towards a peace, stable and prosperous country, may Burma get democracy as soon as possible. http://chitkhinlin.blogspot.com

Burma itself is not a free country. That is why it so hard to free anyone that arrested inside it. UN is weaker than China who is indirectly ruling not only Burma but also South East Asia. We are living in a very insecure world. I am signing here to wish for your release. What I see so far is contrary. The regime gets richer and richer while the freedom fighters are aged and died inside the jail.

"After reading Aung's story, I felt so much sadness for her and the ordeal that is her life, that I also felt compelled to write these words. I am nobody of importance, having done very little public speaking, so I hope my lack of expertize will be forgiven by any readers. Those of us lucky enough to be living in a democratic society, quite often take for granted our civil liberties. Such liberties should also be Aung's and all peoples of this great world! Every person should have equal rights, opportunities, freedoms and the ability to contribute towards a healthier and happier society...no matter what color, race or homeland. Think of the good work Aung could do for humankind...if only she had such freedoms! As the world 'gets smaller' and people communicate with each other, even if it is with a simple tool, such as 'facebook', we develop a greater understanding of each others' lives and we come to realize we are not so different, after all. It is as simple as this...and what unites us all: we are born and we will die...it's what we do with our life, in between, that counts. Aung's freedom is what is fair, just, and should be so! Oppression does not work for the common good of the world...it only works for the oppressor! Aung should be able to live out her remaining days as a free woman...able to contribute to making this world a better place to live in...for you, me and our children! We are the ones who would be blessed if her life is long and healthy! Happy Birthday Aung, I wish for you to receive the greatest gift of all...your freedom!"

The whole round earth says you should be free I wrote on the site earlier today *in the wrong place): Tthe world knows you are the real PM, as surely as does the Junta too. History teaches us that regimes can so suddenly collapse. Burma will be a democracy. We all hope it will not take long now. I only wish it had been today. I can't even begin to imagine how it feels to be under house arrest and yet there is a little part of each of us right there with you in solidarity, day by day.
Paul Barasi (London), 1 Sep 2009, 8:41:51 AM
Thank you for your efforts for a free Burma. I hope that those in positions of authority around the world continue to exert themselves in your favor. I feel that this lengthy detention of you amounts to an atrocity. I wish we in the US could have a march to show our support. All good people everywhere hope and pray for your earliest possible release. Best Wishes for your life, health, and happiness.

The world leaders are just watching the regime game like audience. Sanction works. It is not effective for the evil regimes who don't care about the country or people. Their Thugs from the neighbour are supporting them. Sanctions should be still there and immediate actions are also needed before they close the case. Daw Aung San Suu Kyi - the world is stand by you. I hope the world and I can do more. You are always in my prayer. You are in my heart. Our group distributed thousands of magazines and poems on your Birthday. I understand that poems and magazines will only bring more people to stand by you but they are not the effective actions to fight the evils or murders. I know how you feel. You will be free and see the changes in Burma. You will be happy. The world leaders should not too slow. No one wants to hear the story like Pakistan Benazir Bhutto. Very similar, you were set up to get killed in Depeayin on 30-5-2003. They put you back to house arrest. Now you are again being set up to get arrested. The regime is sealing the borders and China is visiting for more gas and oil to exchange with guns. You will however be freed to free Burma.

May you be freed forever for Burma and the world. Thank you so much. I am a Burmese woman. I am nothing without you and your hard work. I hope brave and educated people from military families will teach their military what is really called "THE TRUTH". Otherwise, Myanmar military is nothing but they there to murder people who loves freedom and democracy. There is no enemies in Burma except the so-called the Myanmar military themselves. Shan, Karen, Mon and the rest are just fighting for their rights according to the original national constitution signed. The current military "lead group" stole the power and still trying to sell their tricks to the rest of the world. As soon as I grown up, I clearly noticed that the world is actually not too safe, because the so-called powerful organization like United Nations, has no power when the situation is occurred. Not just for the Burma issue. That's why the bad guys like North Korea leader is even challenging the entire world today that they would start the WAR if anyone interrupt their missile test on this coming 4th July, that is US's independence day, near target is Hawaii. You-Burma cause is happened to be conjunction with the world's other crises and messes started since 2000. No one can exactly tell what will happen tomorrow. I pray for you. We donate mote hin khar all morning long yesterday. Long live!!!
Thida Oo (Sanfran, CA ), 20 Jun 2009, 9:08:24 AM
Happy Birthday Daw Suu. May your life be long, and may you realize someday the dreams of freedom for Burma which you have cherished all of your life. May your words of encouragement for the Burmese people continue to ring out across the land, and may parents teach those words to their little ones in order for them to grow, and be nourished by your wisdom. May the citizens and leaders of the democratic nations of the free-world take time from their busy schedules to seek out your words, in order to try to comprehend the complex national issues which you so courageously accepted as your burden twenty years ago when you joined the pro-democracy cause. May they then begin to utilize the vast information technologies of the world-media, in order to train the Burmese people in the concepts of nonviolent protest, in order for the Burmese people to begin to put the wheels of freedom, justice, and democracy into motion, and to put aside their fear. Happy Birthday Daw Suu
